This shy, corpulent creature uses a huge broken bell as if it were a turtle shell. These large creatures were once the bell ringers of the Mother of Mothers church, but when the Miracle punished the kingdom, the bells they once rang became large, broken shells.

Behaviour and Tactics[]

  • Bell Charge: The Charging Knell will charge torwards the Penitent One.

The Charging Knell can catch the Penitent One by surprise in a few occasions, but it is not a dangerous enemy for those able to jump over him. Because of the bell, he cannot take frontal damage. To cause damage to him, he must be hit from the back

Despite his big size, the Charging Knell has low HP, taking just a few hits to be killed. When charging, he can be vaulted over. However, when this is done, he will stop in his tracks and try to turn. Being a slow turner, this is the opportunity to defeat the creature. Another options is to make him charge into a wall, where he will be stunned for a short time.

Be careful of the Charging Knell when they are grappled to a wall with the sword: if he hits a wall while charging and the Penitent One is grappled on that wall, even if he's safe from a direct hit, the vibrations of the blow will cause the sword to dislodge from the wall, and the Penitent One will fall down.
