Children of Moonlight

The Children of Moonlight are small infants trapped in a glass and golden case, with winged hands holding them in the air. They can be found all over Cvstodia.

Their purpose is to protect souls in penance, according to the dialogue of Jocinero, presumably their leader and first of the Children of Moonlight.

It would appear that their mission is somehow at odds with the will of the Miracle, as Jocinero explains that the Miracle imprisoned his brethren.

Quest: The Bull and the Moon

The Penitent One has the opportunity to save the imprisoned Children of Moonlight during his journey. There are a total of 38 of them in game, with all of their locations listed below.

After rescuing at least 20 of them, Jocinero will gift the Linen of Golden Thread relic.

After saving all 38 of them, Jocinero will gift the prayer Campanillero to the Sons of the Aurora.

Achievements

The Bull and The Moon Release all cherubs.

Trivia

• When the Penitent One dies and resurrects in a Prie Dieu, a group of Children of Moonlight can be seen helping him and carrying the Mea Culpa, suggesting that they are supporters of his cause and responsible of his resurrection.
• Jocinero and the other Children of Moonlight's design seems to be based on the image of a Putto, a small male child, usually naked and sometimes winged used for decoration in paintings and statues, that came to represent the sacred cherub (plural cherubim) and, in Baroque art, the omnipresence of God.
