Sacred Sorrows is the boss rush mode, introduced in the Strife & Ruin update. Before entering the Sorrow menu, it is necessary to choose one of the existing save files. During a Sorrow, the Penitent One will have the attributes and access to the items from the chosen save.
Sacred Sorrows data is saved separately from the Pilgrimage (story mode) saves, and does not overwrite or invalidate existing saves. Each Sorrow is available in two modes: Pilgrim (NG) and True Torment (NG+).
Between boss fights, the Penitent One may refill his Health and Fervour, each only once during a Sorrow.
